The restroom can be a great resource for gossip and information on my co-workers.  Spending a few extra minutes inside my "mini-cubicle" listening to their conversations can be quite entertaining.  Even before someone speaks, I've become quite good at recognizing footsteps to know exactly who's just entered the room.  Sometimes a quick glance at their shoes helps confirm who's there.   

With that said, I'm glad I recognized the worn pair of tan Rockports that left the handicap stall today.  The file room clerk's shoes are a dead giveaway being a few shades too light and worn by no one else in the office.  The stall door opened and they made a hurried exit WITHOUT stopping by the sink.  I was in the restroom long enough to know that their "business" required a washing.  At first it didn't dawn on my what exactly happened.  And then I was obsessed with thinking about all the files they've pulled for me recently and trying to remember what they brought for our potluck lunch last week.

Thank God I have hand sanitizer at my desk.  And luckily, I didn't have their fruit salad at the luncheon.
